Product licence holders may voluntarily provide the Natural and Non-Prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) with information about whether their product is currently available to Canadian consumers. Where no information has been provided, the default status is "not marketed". The "current status" field remains unaffected and will continue to indicate the status of the product licence (i.e., active, discontinued, stop sale, cancelled, or suspended). Note that where a licence has been suspended, cancelled or under stop sale, the product cannot be legally sold in Canada.
Product licence holders - if you wish to update a product's market status, you are invited to complete the Natural Health Products Market Notification Web Form. As with all other notifications, there is no current service standard. The NNHPD will process the market status update as soon as feasible, based on its available resources. As a reminder, market notification is voluntary; therefore, a licence holder is not required to wait for the LNHPD to be updated before a licensed product is sold in Canada. As such, products that are identified in the LNHPD as "not marketed" may still be sold in Canada.

- Helps lower blood total and LDL cholesterol. Helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels.

- Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have an iron deficiency. Could cause a dermatological hypersensitivity reaction in some patients. Do not take if you have a known allergy/hypersensitivity to Guggul or any of its constituents. Consult a health care practitioner if you have a thyroid disorder. Consult a health care practitioner if you are taking beta-blockers (e.g. propranolol) or calcium channel blockers (e.g. Diltiazem). Consult a health care practitioner if you have coagulation disorder and/or are at risk for bleeding or are taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication. Discontinue use if gastrointestinal discomfort, headache and/or skin rash appear. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if new symptoms develop, consult a health care practitioner. If you are taking medication particularly hydroxymethylglutaryl (HMG) CoA reductase lipid-lowering drugs (statins), cyclosporine, anti-diabetic drugs, and/or blood thinners, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. If you experience muscle pain, tenderness, and/or weakness, discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner. If you suffer from kidney disorder or have received an organ transplant, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. If you have a liver disorder, consult a health care practitioner prior to use. Stop use if you develop symptoms of liver trouble such as yellowing of the skin/eyes (jaundice), stomach pain, dark urine, sweating, nausea, unusual tiredness and/or loss of appetite and consult a health care practitioner.
- Contra-Indications
- Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you plan to become pregnant, do not use.
- Known Adverse Reactions
- Heartburn has been known to occur. Rare, unpredictable cases of liver injury associated with green tea extract-containing products have been reported (in Canada and internationally).
