Recommended use or purpose:
Uses 1: Provides gentle relief of constipation and/or irregularity. Laxative. Bulk-forming laxative. Dietary fibre supplement. Gentle relief of irregularity. Promotes digestive health (or digestive wellness) by relieving irregularity. Promotes, restores, and maintains regularity. Daily fibre supplement to promote and maintain regularity. Fiber absorbs water into the intestine, creating a viscous fluid that increases motility and decreases transit time. Psyllium husk is a natural, therapeutic fiber. It causes retention of fluid and an increase in fecal mass, resulting in stimulation of peristalsis. A bowel movement can be expected in 12 to 72 hours. Suitable for those who lack dietary fibre. Daily use Uses 2: For use in conditions in which easy defaecation with soft stool is desirable, such as in cases of painful defaecation after rectal or anal surgery, anal fissures and haemorrhoids. Uses 3: Cholesterol-lowering agent. Lowers (mildly to moderately) elevated cholesterol levels when taken with a low fat diet. Lowers cholesterol levels. Lowers (mildly to moderately) elevated cholesterol levels when taken with a low fat diet. Psyllium fibre helps reduce/lower cholesterol. High cholesterol is a risk factor for heart disease. Psyllium fibre helps reduce/lower (LDL) cholesterol, a risk factor for heart disease. Promotes heart health. Soluble fiber from psyllium, when included as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of (coronary) heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels. Helps maintain a healthy cardiovascular system by (promoting healthy cholesterol levels) or (lowering cholesterol levels). Helps to support cardiovascular health. For use in patient to whom an increased daily fibre intake may be advisable such as an adjuvant in hypercholesterolemia. Uses 4: Helps to temporarily reduce food intake when taken prior to a meal. Helps to temporarily suppress appetite when taken prior to a meal. Helps to temporarily increase satiety/feelings of fullness when taken prior to a meal. Appetite control - Helps to temporarily suppress appetite when taken prior to a meal. Appetite suppression - Helps to temporarily increase satiety/feelings of fullness when taken prior to a meal. Uses 5: Helps support healthy blood sugar levels. It helps your body maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Use 6: For use in patient to whom an increased daily fibre intake may be advisable as an adjuvant in constipation predominant irritable bowel syndrome.
Risk Information:
Cautions and Warnings 
Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days. Do not take laxative within 2 hours of taking any other medicine. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement. AVOID INHALATION. Mucillium[TM] may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium. Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Consult a health care practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever. Do not take any type of laxative for more than one week unless your physician has ordered a special schedule for you. Do not interrupt medication. Do not swallow in dry form.
Contra-Indications 
Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing. Do not use if you have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate. Do not use if you are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product.
Known Adverse Reactions 
Hypersensitivity, such as allergy, has been known to occur following inhaled and/or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating.
